Volunteers Needed:

A Stephen Minister

A lay minister who is recruited, selected, trained, and supervised to provide Christian pastoral care to people who are in crisis, divorced, grieving, lonely, hospitalized, or anyone else who needs someone who will listen.
Commitment:  We ask a 2-year commitment which includes 50 hours of training and regular supervision.

Bereavement Luncheon

A catered hot meal is offered to any church family before or following on the day of the funeral.
Workers and/or cake contributors are needed.
Commitment:  Be willing to work 2 and 1/2 hours on the day of the funeral and/or bring a cake to the church for serving.

Care Bears

A small teddy bear wrapped in a handmade quilted coverlet is delivered to a member in the hospital or at home to let him/her know that God cares and that members are praying for them.
Life is like a patchwork quilt.
Just give Jesus all the pieces
And He'll make a pretty quilt.
Commitment:  May vary to fit your schedule.

Communion to Homebound

Deliver communion to members who cannot attend worship due to confinement at home, in a nursing facility or in the hospital.
Commitment:  The first Sunday afternoon of each month.

Monday Flowers

Help arrange the altar flowers into containers and deliver them to hospital patients, nursing home residents, or homebound members.
Commitment:  2 hours on Monday mornings.

Sunday Drivers

Drive your own car to pick up and take home those members or friends who have phoned the church office for a ride to the 11:00 AM worship service.
Commitment:  Approximately 1 or 2 times per month.

Visit Homebound Members

Receive training to visit members of Methodist Temple in their homes.
Visits are to assist pastors in providing support, sacraments, and prayers.
Commitment:  May vary to fit your schedule.

Visit Nursing Home Residents

Receive training to visit members of Methodist Temple in nursing homes.
Visits are to assist the pastors in providing support, sacraments, and prayers.
Commitment:  May vary to fit your schedule.

Welcome Baby

Send greetings to the new family upon birth of baby and provide other services, e.g. food as needed by family.
