Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose Purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to extend concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

 

Goals

U.M.W.'s goal is to have every Methodist woman in the church be a member of U.M.W. and to collectively work for missions, both locally and globally.

 

Membership

Membership is not restricted to members of Methodist Temple, but is open to anyone interested in missions.
General meetings are luncheons held at 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of March, May, September and October; one family night each year; and a Christmas tea.

Deborah Fellowship

Meets for prayer, study, or to simply regroup and focus on the Lord's direction in dealing with everyday life as a working woman.

Meets: monthly to make craft items, 4th Tuesday, Lower Level, 7:00 P.M.

Open to all interested ladies. Cut, glue, stuff, sew, etc. Crafts made year round for
November bazaar. Proceeds support missions projects locally and world wide.

Meets:  Monday, 9:00 am, Lower Level Rm. A
Open to all interested ladies. Cut, glue, stuff, sew, etc. Crafts made year round for
November bazaar. Proceeds support missions projects locally and world wide. Ideas for new projects are welcome.

Sweater Ministry

The Guideposts Knit for Kids began in 1996 and, in those eight years, has collected over 200,000 sweaters for children all over the world. Romania, Turkey, and Kosovo are some of the latest destinations where sweaters have been shipped.
Sweaters may be knitted or crocheted. Patterns may be obtained from and completed sweaters returned to the church office.
Commitment:  Varying amount of time.
